E-40 "One Night Stand"

Earl Stevens (born November 15, 1967) best known by his stage name E-40, is a Bay Area rapper, part of the Bay Area rap group The Click and founder of Bay Area hip-hop record label Sick Wid It Records. After the release of The Click's first album Down and Dirty, E-40's local solo debut was released. E-40 worked almost exclusively with Bay Area rappers until 1997, when he and cousin B-Legit released Southwest Riders, a compilation featuring prominent Bay Area and Southern artists. The album's aim was to bridge the gap between the two regions given their distinct similar sounding rap music . E-40 jumped into the limelight in 1995 with his single "Sprinkle Me" from his album In A Major Way. Often heralded as his best album, In A Major Way went gold in 1996. Since it's release in 1995, E-40 has released seven more albums with My Ghetto Report Card being his biggest release since In A Major Way. From 2004 to 2008, he hosted a weekly radio program on San Francisco hip-hop station KMEL titled E-Feezy Radio, showcasing Bay Area hip hop music. After a talent show at Grambling State University, E-40 and his cousin B-Legit decided to attempt a career in rap. They moved back to Vallejo and teamed up with D-Shot, E-40's brother, to form the group Most Valuable Players. E-40's gospel singing uncle (Saint Charles") helped them put out the record.E-40's sister, Suga T, was then added to the group to form The Click. On December 28, 2008, five people were injured in a shoot-out outside E-40's Denver, Colorado concert at the Vinyl nightclub.

DMX "We In Here"

Since beginning public life as a rapper, DMX has made headlines for multiple arrests, such as for violent behavior, animal cruelty, reckless driving, unlicensed driving, drug possession, and identity falsification. He has served some prison time, such as separate 15-day sentence in 2000 for possessing marijuana and 2001 for having driven without a license and possessed marijuana. His appeal to reduce that 2001 sentence was denied, and he was charged with assault for allegedly throwing objects at prison guards. In June 2004, he was arrested at the John F. Kennedy International Airport on charges of cocaine possession, criminal impersonation, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, menacing, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol while claiming to be a federal agent and attempting to carjack a vehicle. He was given a conditional discharge on December 8, 2004 but pled guilty on October 25, 2005 to violating parole. On November 18, 2005, DMX was sentenced to 70 days in prison for violating his parole; the lateness charge caused a 10-day extension from the original 60-day plan. For good behavior, DMX was released from jail early on December 30. DMX has had numerous arrests and warrants in 2008, it is still unconfirmed if he has to serve time or when he will have no more court cases. As of December 31, 2008, DMX has pleaded guilty on charges of dogfighting, drug possession, theft, and various other charges. DXM is yet to face his jail time later this year 2009 in Maricopa County jail in Phoenix.

On the night of November 30, 1994, the day before the verdict in his sexual abuse trial was to be announced, Shakur was shot five times and robbed after entering the lobby of Quad Recording Studios in Manhattan by two armed men in army fatigues. He would later accuse Sean Combs, Andre Harrell, and Biggie Smalls — whom he saw after the shooting — of setting him up. Shakur also suspected his close friend and associate, Randy "Stretch" Walker, of being involved in the attempt. According to the doctors at Bellevue Hospital, where he was admitted immediately following the incident, Shakur had received five bullet wounds; twice in the head, twice in the groin and once through the arm and thigh. He checked out of the hospital, against doctor's orders, three hours after surgery. In the day that followed, Shakur entered the courthouse in a wheelchair and was found guilty of three counts of molestation, but innocent of six others, including sodomy. On November 30, 1995, exactly one year to the day of the shooting, Stretch was killed in an execution-style murder in Queens. On March 27, 2008, the LA Times issued an apology to Combs for blaming him for having a role in the '94 attack on Shakur. The article stated that Shakur was led to the studio by Biggie's associates to gun him down to make favor with Biggie. The newspaper relied on forged documents that The Smoking Gun proved to be faked.Combs stated that he is disgusted with the LA Times for printing the story.

Tim Dog "F*CK Compton"

Tim Dog (real name Timothy Blair) (b 1 January 1967) is an American rapper from the Bronx, New York who rose to prominence during the early '90s with his debut LP Penicillin on Wax and the celebrated "diss" record "Fuck Compton".[1]Tim had already appeared on songs with the Ultramagnetic MCs and went on to form a duo, Ultra, with member Kool Keith. "Fuck Compton" appeared in XXL Magazine's "Top 25 Diss Tracks of All Time" and earned Tim Dog critical acclaim from progressive hip-hop producer Blockhead who said that Tim Dog's "The Dog's Gonna Getcha" (off Penicillin On Wax) is "quite possibly the hardest song ever made." [2] Nas shouts out Tim Dog on his track "Where Are They Now?" from his 2006 Album Hip Hop Is Dead and despite Tim Dog's beef with Dr Dre, Eminem name-checked him on the track 'Ricky Ticky Toc'.

Cypress Hill was banned from Saturday Night Live after Muggs smoked cannabis on-air and the band trashed their instruments while playing their second single "I Ain't Goin' Out Like That". The band headlined the "Soul Assassins" tour with House of Pain and Funkdoobiest as support, then performed on a college tour with Rage Against the Machine and Seven Year Bitch. In 1993, Cypress Hill also had two tracks on the Judgment Night soundtrack, teamed up with Pearl Jam and Sonic Youth.

Ricky Walters (born January 14, 1965), better known by stage names Slick Rick, MC Ricky D and Rick the Ruler, is a Grammy-nominated British-American rapper. Originally from South Wimbledon, London, England, he moved with his family to The Bronx in 1975 where he met Dana Dane, later forming a hip hop duo as Kangol Crew. Rick's characteristic eyepatch was acquired after being blinded in the right eye by broken glass as an infant. He is best known for a series of rap recordings during the 1980s, including "Hey Young World", "Children's Story" and "La Di Da Di", B-side of Doug E. Fresh single "The Show" (1985). Once he gained a degree of wealth, he earned a reputation for wearing an enormous amount of gold and diamond jewelry, including many large necklaces with giant pendants, bracelets, huge rings on each finger, and a gold tooth.

Geto Boys "Ain't With Bein' Broke"

The Geto Boys' association with controversy was far from over, though: hip-hop groups were a hot topic for moral-minded politicians during the early 1990s, and several leaders used the Geto Boys as an example to decry the state of modern pop-oriented music. The fires were fanned in 1991 with the release of the group's third proper LP, We Can't Be Stopped. Before the release of the album, Bushwick Bill had lost an eye in a shooting incident with his girlfriend, and the cover featured Willie D. and Scarface wheeling Bushwick Bill into an emergency room, with a prominent shot of the damaged eye. Inside the album, proceedings were among the most extreme in the history of American recorded music. Obviously, radio airplay was non-existent, but We Can't Be Stopped was still certified platinum by the RIAA in early 1992—thanks to the underground hit "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," one of the most effective inner-city vignettes in hip-hop history. By 1993, all three members had begun solo careers, although Willie D. was the only one completely separated from the band, citing artistic differences. Scarface and Bushwick Bill continued with new member Big Mike, releasing Uncut Dope in 1993 and Til Death Due Us Part the following year but split late in 1994. Just one year later, Willie D. returned to the fold for another Geto Boys release, The Resurrection, which showed the group in fine form. Now it was Bushwick Bill's turn to leave the group. DMG took his place for 1998's Da Good Da Bad & Da Ugly but returned for the group's 2005 reunion album, The Foundation.

Public Enemy Uploader: BVMUndergroundHipHop
Public Enemy "A-N-M"

Public Enemy revolutionized the hip-hop world with its political, social and cultural consciousness, which infused itself into skilled and poetic rhymes with raucous sound collages as a foundation. Prior to PE, political hip-hop was confined to a few tracks by Ice-T, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and KRS-One, as well as prototypical artists such as Gil Scott-Heron and the Last Poets. PE was the first hip-hop act to base its entire image around a political stance. With the success of Public Enemy, hip-hop was suddenly flooded with new artists that celebrated Afrocentric themes, such as Kool Moe Dee, Gang Starr, X Clan, Eric B. & Rakim, Queen Latifah, the Jungle Brothers, and A Tribe Called Quest. In the 1991 movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day, John Connor (Edward Furlong) wears a Public Enemy t-shirt throughout the entire movie, exhibiting its influence even in mainstream venues.

In 2008, Scarface collaborated with rapper Tech N9ne on his album Killer (Tech N9ne album) on the song "Pillow Talkin'".

Thug Life featuring Nate Dog "How Long Will They Mourn Me"

In late 1993, Shakur formed the group Thug Life with a number of his friends, including Big Syke, Macadoshis, his stepbrother Mopreme Shakur, and Rated R. The group released their first and only record album Thug Life: Volume 1 on September 26, 1994, which went gold. The album featured the single "Pour Out a Little Liquor" produced by Johnny "J" Jackson, who went on to produce a large part of Shakur's album All Eyez on Me. The group usually performed their concerts without Shakur. The concept of "Thug Life" was viewed by Shakur as a philosophy for life. He developed the word into a backronym standing for "The Hate U Give Little Infants Fucks Everybody".[citation needed] He declared that the dictionary definition of a "thug" as being a rogue or criminal was not how he used the term, but rather he meant someone who came from oppressive or squalid background and little opportunity but still made a life for himself and was proud

Cypress Hill "Hand On The Pump"

Cypress Hill is an American hip hop group from South Gate, California. Cypress Hill was the first Latino group to have platinum and multi-platinum albums. The band was originally called DVX, but the name was changed after Mellow Man Ace left in 1988. Over the course of its history, Cypress Hill has sold more than 18 million albums worldwide, including more than 11 million records in the U.S. alone. Their first album, which was self-titled, was released in August 1991. Its single was "Phuncky Feel One," but it was the B-side "How I Could Just Kill A Man" that attracted more airplay on urban radio and college radio. Based on the success of the single and other tracks such as bilingual track "Latin Lingo" and X-rated Spanish track "Tres Equis", the album sold two million copies in the US alone. Subsequently, DJ Muggs produced House of Pain's first album, then worked on other Soul Assassins projects like Funkdoobiest. The band made their first appearance at Lollapalooza on the side stage in 1992.

Black Moon "Who's Got The Props"

Black Moon is an American hip hop group, consisting of members Buckshot, 5ft and DJ Evil Dee (of Da Beatminerz). The group is most well-known for their debut album Enta Da Stage, and their affiliation with the Boot Camp Clik. During the group's hiatus, DJ Evil Dee continued his production career with his crew Da Beatminerz, and lead MC Buckshot headed out and formed his own supergroup called the Boot Camp Clik, featuring fellow Brooklyn locals Smif-N-Wessun, Heltah Skeltah and O.G.C.. Following the releases of the debuts from Smif-N-Wessun (Dah Shinin'), Heltah Skeltah (Nocturnal), and O.G.C. (Da Storm), Black Moon reformed on Buckshot's label Duck Down Records. In late 1996, Nervous Records released a Black Moon compilation album titled Diggin' In Dah Vaults, which featured a number of remixes and b-side tracks. After the group's split with Nervous Records, Black Moon became entangled in a legal battle over the licensing rights of their group name, which lasted for a number of years. The case was finally settled in 1998, and they were able to license the name through Nervous.
