I am due in November of this year, and my sister is planning her wedding in March, at which point the baby will be 4 months old. She is getting married in the Carribbean. I can't possibly miss her wedding, (I'm a bridesmaid!) and my partner staying home is not an option (can't go to a wedding without a date!) Is 4 months too young for international travel? I worry about malaria, and viruses that he/she will not yet be immunized for. But I can't bear the thought of leaving a brand new baby at home, especially since I want to breastfeed as long as possible.
Obviously I have thought of a passport. I have an extra application from when I got mine, just waiting for a name, birthdate, and SS# to go with it! I am more concerned with the health risks specific to the Virgin Islands.
