What is the best way to tell my family I spent a year in a psych ward?
Not kidding, not a joke. I have manic depression and spent a stretch in psych ward to avoid charges for stabbing a cop. I have been recieving treatment for 3 years and am fine. My Mum just moved to Canada, from Britain and I am sure one of my kids or friends will let it slip. How do I tell her. Or should I bother.

What kind of jobs do people have in the psych ward?
i want to work in a mental health facility, either drug rehab, behavior rehab or mental health psych/psycho ward. what kind of jobs are there, i know there are MD and psychiatrists that work there, who else works there? i am really intrigued by this, i want to work there and i want to be higher up in there and not just tackle people on the floors.

What did you do? How long did you stay? How many times have you went? I am always getting very anxious and very panicky, and then I think about knives. But mostly I get very anxious and very panicky. I do think about knives. Like those regular hand-knives with the black handle, and the sharp knife . All they do is put me in a psych ward. And I don't even know why.

What happens if police commit you to a psych ward?
Suppose a person acts wacky enough in a public setting to be forced to 'volunteer' themselves to a psych unit. The cops are involved. Is this put on a permanent record of sorts? They did 'volunteer' for treatment... but what happens if they get a traffic ticket later - is this something the officer can see if they pull up that person's record?
