How long can a baby be in the birthing positon before it gets stressed?
I am 37 weeks pregnant and the baby is already in the birthing position. she has been there over a week and yesterday at my doctors appoitment her heart beat went from being 165 to 136 is this normal. the doctor thinks she is fine but i know there is something wrong. he says i am not dilated but he can feel the head when he checks to see if i am. does any of this make sense to you?

Do you recommend taking the birthing classes?

How long does it take for a female cat to complete the birthing process?
I am brand new at having a female cat that actually got pregnant and gave birth to kittens. All other cats that I have ever had in my lifetime have all been fixed. Yesterday, my son and I discovered that our female cat had given birth to 1 kitten just before we both left to go to work. After I got home, I found that she had given birth to a second kitten. My significant other is extremely curious as to how long the birthing process is before we can determine exactly how many kittens I will end up with. Both the mom and dad live with me; I had received the both of them last year fresh off a litter from a former neighbor of mine. This is her first pregnancy. I have looked all over my apartment looking for other kittens that might be hidden somewhere, but haven't found any others.

At approximately what month does the baby get into the birthing position?
The reason why I'm asking is because I am 30 weeks pregnant (7 months) and my baby is already set into the birthing position. I'm just wondering if that means that I might have my baby before time. I'm said to be due February 2nd. Thanks!!

Do the male (sire) dogs recognize their puppies as theirs if they aren`t around during the birthing?
I always wondered if they felt that parental sense of entitlement to their puppies, or recognized them by smell or something if they weren`t around the dam when she was birthing. Anybody know?
