Bellevue SWAT Ends Standoff

On July 30, 2007, around 3:00 PM a standoff began between the Bellevue Police Department and an uncooperative man in his Heatherstone apartment, at 15200-15216 NE 8th ST. SWAT units were called in. They deployed some kind of explosive, probably tear gas or concussion grenades, into the apartment. I believe police also cut off electricity and water to the apartment. This event ended safely a little before 7:00 PM. It is unknown to me what the original call was, but a local resident told me that the man had metal problems and did not take his medicine (this is of course unconfirmed).
