BUCKEEY: Shay Johnson : Flavor of Love : Disses Tiffany "New York" Pollard from I Love New York. He'd held the number one spot for seven straight weeks since he first appeared on BlackPressRadio.com. But, Charm School's Shay "Buckeey" Johnson recently knocked podcast king "I Love New York" star Tango off his throne to capture the number one most listened to and downloaded Black podcast in America, according to BlackPressRadio.com. At presstime some 150,000 people have listened to her podcast before it was placed into the Black Press Radio.com archives. The full 35+ minute interview is now available for purchase in the Black Press Store. "I admit, I really wasn't feeling Charm School before I interviewed these women for the podcasts on BlackPressRadio.com," said DC Livers, managing editor for the Historical Black Press Foundation. "But, after talking with them on the phone, meeting them in person, seeing them handle themselves with the media and at parties, I have to say I'm impressed, particularly with Saaphyri and Buckeey." Shay was always a fan favorite and also has a very popular calendar that is selling well on her websit,e which proves her popularity with the fellas. But some worry that her actions on the Flavor of Love, where she allegedly attempted to push co-star Heather "Krazy" Crawford over a balcony, her Charm School decision to participate in stealing the photos of her co-star Leiline's dead mother and most recently her fight with co-star Larissa "Bootz" Hodge Aurora on the Charm School Reunion will taint the otherwise well liked reality TV star. "From our interview to meeting her in person, it's clear to me that Shay is clearly a go-getter, a real likable person," said Livers. "But, the world didn't get to see her or hear her as I did. I hope that she'll lose the babysitter gone wild image and emerge as the serious actress, model or role model that her fans want. She's far too talented to continue on that path." Shay apologized to Bootz on the show and plans to work with Bootz in the future, but will the public be receptive to the two on-screen troublemakers? The number one position has only changed hands one time when BET's former corporate communications exec Michael Lewellen lost the spot to Tango after holding the position for four weeks.
